The Problem with ATS...

So, most people understand that resumes/CVs are filtered. Gone are the days where you just handed a #resume to someone to read it in person, or even uploaded it direct to a website/jobboard for employers to review...

Applicant Tracking Systems are designed to eliminate as many resumes as possible that 'don't fit' the job posting, and to promote the ones with that are the 'best match' for the position available. But this is only on paper... The genuine best applicants are often lost in this system. In person, they'd nail it, but because they just didn't have the right format, or enough keywords that match to the job post, or some combination of issues like this, they never get a chance.

Only 1/4 Resumes/CVs get through the #ATS... and even fewer will rank highly enough (% matches to job descriptions are a common filtering technique) within the ATS to be pulled by hiring managers and reviewed. When you are going up against 300 other #applicants, it is already tough to stand out. Add in the fact that you might not even get considered against them due to an overly analytical robot, and it's a nightmare!

If you have fallen foul of the ATS, you will notice one of a few possible outcomes to #online #applications... Either you got #rejected VERY fast, like crazy quickly, because your application was autorejected. Or you will hear nothing for a long time, then get a generic rejection email, as you are part of the mass rejection after the candidate/s are picked. Or you will hear nothing whatsoever because you did not get through the ATS, or did not rank highly enough to get considered at ay point.
